Border Patrol Commendation Medal

HonorFirst, in one form or another, has been around for a lot of years. It originated as a one page web site hosted by The Riverside Press-Enterprise newspaper company sometime around 1996 or maybe a bit earlier. The magnitude of what I had done did not sink in on me at the time. All I was trying to do was help people find information to get hired on as Border Patrol Agents. My secondary goal was to nudge the Border Patrol (There was no CBP back then.) into getting a web presence. Probably my proudest moment, up until today, was when the web guys for Border Patrol called me and asked for my permission to use excerpts from my site to establish the BP site. Today, the CBP site has far exceeded my wildest expectations and now provides applicants with everything they need to apply. HonorFirst.com continues to be a useful site for many aspects of recruiting, and the connected forums for applicants and agents are great resources for communication.

I would like to express my gratitude to Assistant Chief Clifford Gill for this recognition and for gently guiding it through the process to fruition.
