Believe it or not, I am not the all-knowing guru of Border Patrol hiring. I'm just a guy with a web site who has gleaned the collective knowledge of hundreds of people and compiled it into a useful compendium of facts. Thus, you should refrain from sending me hiring questions and use the on line forum instead. The Border Patrol Applicant message board has been a huge success. Almost any question you may have has been or will be answered there. Think of a subject and use the SEARCH feature. Please don't just be a lurker. Active participation has its own rewards. The Plus membership (paid) gives you lots more privileges. HonorFirst gets no funds from Delphi message boards and is not connected with them in any way other than to provide this service to you.
If you are already a registered user, click HERE to go to that board.. If not, check below:
The url for the message board is: http://forums.delphiforums.com/borderpatrol.
Don't go there until you finish reading this. After you have successfully accessed the board's opening page, go ahead and bookmark it so you don't have to look for this page each time to locate it. Delphi is a commercial operation not associated with this web site. The message boards are free, but they do contain advertising which is a price we have to pay to get free stuff. Advertising is turned off if you use the Plus membership.
Delphi requires a short registration to access the board the first time. You will be asked to choose a password to access their boards. You may use this same password to access any of their boards and there are hundreds of them. Delphi will send you email, but they will immediately stop as soon as you tell them to unsubscribe. After you successfully log on the first time, add "/messages" (without the"") to the end of the url and it will save you one step every time you log on in the future.
Agents are encouraged to visit the applicant board to provide answers to questions from applicants and to motivate them through the sometimes long and arduous application process.
The wives, husbands, parents and significant others have formed their own message board and support group. To connect to their board, click HERE.
AGENT'S ONLY FORUM
There is a passworded message board strictly for the use of full-fledged agents and former agents who left the Patrol in good standing. This means that spouses of agents are NOT welcome in this forum. If your account is found to have spousal visits, your account will be locked out.
If you are NOT an agent (or just NOT YET an agent) do not waste your time nor mine by requesting access until you have government email at your station and you are OFF PROBATION. If you are a trainee who is on light duty at your station, even if you have government email, you are NOT an agent, so do not request access.
Agents who want the url and password may contact me via email. Agents may send an email to my home computer (I am NOT on government email) and I will reply to their government address. In order to do this, send an email to this address including your name exactly as it appears on the government email roster. Be sure to mention that you are an agent with arrest authority. You can also use THIS contact form to get the password information.
If you want to make my life easier and make your reply a one-click affair, please send me an email FROM your government account to ray@ this web site address. In the body say something like I am a BPA stationed in Ajo, AZ, requesting access to the Agents' Forum. That makes my life easier because I just reply and attach the password. I get a bunch of requests daily, so this really helps me. Thanks, Ya'll!
FORBPO members contact me at my address in the FORBPO email list. Non-FORBPO members who are retired BPA's are welcome, but be ready to answer a little quiz to prove that you are indeed who you say you are. No verbal false claims allowed!
I suggest that for official answers to hiring problems, you contact the Minnesota Hiring Center in Twin Cities. A list of phone numbers is located on the Phone Numbers FAQ page.
For non-hiring inquiries (web site business ONLY), such as reporting dead links, suggesting a link or if you just want to send me money, use the form below. Of course, the web site business only provision does not apply to old buddies.
AGENTS: DO NOT USE the form below to request forum access. Read info above.
If you are a spam idiot, trust me, you are wasting your time sending me anything.
