Firearms Qualification Course
More info at bottom of page

Changes from the old course of fire:
50 rounds
 vs 72 rounds
Target is different with either ‘in’ or ‘out’ (1 point or 0 point)
Passing is 40 or more ‘in’ (80%)
Stages start from the 25 yard line and move closer.  There is LESS distance shooting than before (16 rounds total from the 25 and 15 yd lines versus 36 in the old qual)
New stages at the 10 yard line and 5 yard line
4 emergency reloads versus 1 emergency reload (I think) in the old qual.
2 ‘alternate aim point’ (basically headshot) drills, one at the 7 yard line 2 handed and one at the 5 yard line strong hand only.
2 Offline drills followed by strong hand only shooting
Only 1 drill at the 1.5 yard line (3 rounds bent elbow)

We start with 5 magazine loaded with 10 rounds each.  This will accommodate all three flavors of Glock and the odd HK that still quals.  It also allows the FIs to issue 1 box of ammo for quals.   The NEW UOF guidelines that came out in January also only require two live fire qualification shoots per year for score (but there are firearms drills every quarter).
